He is the definition
of a modern-day renaissance man: artist, actor, athlete, business man,
advocate, and leader.
Banned Entertainment Founder Jose Banuelos was born and raised in San
Antonio, TX.
As a student at Brackenridge High School, Jose discovered his two passions:
Production and Running.
His impact was felt as early as his sophomore year, producing a record
6 segments for the video yearbook.
Jose continued his running career as a Division I athlete at The University
of Texas at San Antonio, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech
Communication in 2004, developing his performance and presentation skills.
While working in hospitality industry, Jose began his professional acting
career, and began to polish his production skills at San Antonio Colleges
Radio Television and Film program.
During a holiday break, Jose stumbled upon an ad for the International
Academy of Design and Technology, where his artistic talents exploded,
and has become one of the academies most accomplished Graphic Design
students. Upon completion of his program in the summer of 2009, Banned
Entertainment was founded, began to make an immediate impact in the
film community.
Giving back is also a personal priority for Jose, who is currently serving
as Director of Communication, for the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity Alumni
Association of San Antonio, and inaugural President of the IADT San
Antonio Alumni Association, and sponsoring events like the San Antonio
48 Project, Urban Revolution launch party; and as of April 2010 is the
new chairman of the San Antonio Film Institute.
Creating and industry, by creating community is not just a mission
statement, its my purpose in life.
